Tambourine, tambourine and more tambourine for the church that loves to praise, worship, do spiritual warfare, celebrate, rejoice and have joy in our amazing God.

The technique of playing the tambourine called Timbrel Praise (TP)
started in the 80's in Hong Kong. Dodie Sarchet-Waller produced this
technique after learning a couple of steps & movements from a school teacher.

As there was only time for several lessons, the majority of steps and movements
had to be created. The method of writing long and shorthand instructions
was also created by Dodie so that other churches and individuals
could learn the timbrel without having someone teach them
hands on, as at that time teachers were in short supply.

Box symbols were then designed as the sheet music for
timbrelists, along with additional theory, movement styles,
and playing techniques. Consequently, by the end of the 80's
the first version of the basic tambourine book was written. Since then,
intermediate and advanced books have been written along with additional
material to aid timbrelists in both learning and teaching the tambourine, TP style.

Ms. Dodie V. Sarchet-Waller is currently the director of creative arts at Elim Full
Gospel Church, Hong Kong. She is also the director of Timbrel Praise and is
assisted by Melinda Yan who is the assistant director of Timbrel Praise.

Although there are many aspects of playing the tambourine, the
main goal of the Timbrel Praise technique is to create a skilful
tambourine player who contributes and does not draw away
from praising and worshiping our amazing God.
